AK 6506 brings new life down from air!!

What an interesting topic rite....

Yeah, Air Asia brings a new born baby down from the sky... What does this mean? Let's check out in the following article which I had read through from a local newspaper in Malaysia named The Star.

SEPANG: The baby boy, who created national headlines when he was born on an AirAsia plane, has been named Asia Liew Ya Hang.

His mother Liew Siaw Hsia said the Chinese name ‘Ya Hang’ means ‘AirAsia’ in Mandarin.
“It’s the best name I can give my son who was the first baby born on the airline’s plane,” she said in a statement yesterday.

The mother and baby are currently at the Putrajaya Hospital.

Asia Liew Ya Hang was safely delivered on board Flight AK 6506 on Oct 21 when the aircraft was about 800m in the air.

The flight from Penang to Kuching was diverted to the low-cost carrier terminal here when Liew went into premature labour.

The airline has presented Liew and the baby free flight tickets for life to celebrate the birth.

So what do you think about this interesting articles?? Congratulation to Madam Liew Siaw Hsia for giving birth to a little boy named Liew Ya Hang in the mid-air of flight AK 6506 during the Penang to Kuching route. Once again I would like to say BRAVO to Air Asia for bringing the baby boy and touch down on the tarmac of LCCT.

Air Asia X : Malaysia's 1st A340

Hey there, here's another nice photos that I browsed and get intrested when I'm on the Airliners.net webpage.
Nothing much, its a Air Asia X (a subsidary company of Air Asia) which flies extra liong mileage than Air Asia. As usual, Air Asia X (D7) is also well known as a low cost carrier where it brings the motto of "connects Asia and Europe" a couple of months ago. So let's look on thier aircraft which they used to served its route.

Firstly, I would like to introduce this Airbus A340-300 which carry a registration number 9M-XAB. This A340 is the first A340 in Malaysia and this also shows that D7 is the first airliner in Malaysia to use this A340-300. This great red bird carry a tile "Xanadu" and serve the Kuala Lumpur to London, Stanstead route!! This shows that D7 is one of the connector for Asia and Europe in the low cost carrier's sector.

The above is the Air Asia X's Airbus 340-300 which can be seen is running on the runway 32R at KLIA. At the back are MAS's A330s and B777s

Malaysia Singapore aviation network seems bright

Here is one of the shortest posting for "Freedom Of Space"!!!

Regarding to the title above, Malaysia and Singapore will have a brighter aviation network starting from now onwards. According to a press in Malaysia, both Malaysia and Singapore will expand their aviation network with adding more frequencies in or out to Singapore. This will open more opportunities to the tourism network and these will including more new daily flights to 6 destinations throughout the whole Malaysia.

So, are you ready for the boost as well?? Let's wait for the further notice from both of the country and hopefully these will be a reality in the Malaysia and Singapore aviation network!!! Currently, the airliners of Malaysia such as Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia, Firefly and the airliners of Singapore such as Singapore Airlines, Jetstar, SilkAir and Tiger Airways are flying between these two country with a number of destinations and frequencies.

Jetstar Airways 5th Birthday Sales

Jetstar Airways is having its 5th Birthday Sales from now onwards!! Firstly I would like to wish Jetstar "Happy Birthday" in advance. Okay, let's look on what Jetstar will gives us in conjunction of the birthday sales this year.

Do you know about Jetstar? Here, JetStar can be said as a part of Qantas, national carrier of Australia. However, Jetstar (JQ) is a low cost carrier based in Australia. However, the first flight of sister airline, Jetstar Asia Airways had launched somewhere around 2004. This marked Qantas' entry into the Asian low-cost market and signified its intention to battle key competitor SingaporeAirlines on its home ground. Qantas has a 42.5% stake in Jetstar Asia's ownership and yet Jetstar Asia (3K) is also 1 of the competitor for Silk Air, a low cost carrier from Singapore.
Although 3K is another sister airline of JQ, but the airline still carry a big star logo at the tail of the aircraft used. The differences is just only the name from Jetstar to Jetstar Asia. The people are still call this 3K as Jetstar nowadays. Currently Jetstar Asia (3k) operates 9 Airbus A320-200 with 11 routes in South East Asia. Jetstar Asia aircraft feature leather seats with a seat pitch of 30 inches and free online seat selection and allocation. Passengers are required to purchase the food and drinks onboard with its programme called "Star Cafe" because its a low cost carrier just like the others LCC airliners do.
Alrite, now let's move back to the title again. 3K is now offering its passenger a big birthday sales. For the Kuala Lumpur to Singapore route, 3K will have a promotion of RM9 for its base fare and for the route from Kuala Lumpur to Darwin via Singapore will be having a base fare from as low as SGD 168. And yet, there are many promotional routes as publish on their official website. So, have a look on the sales & promotional page now.
Visits Jetstar's official website, http://www.jetstar.com/ for more information and details about the carrier.

A Jetstar Asia's A320-200 (9V-JSD) is seen departing from KLIA.

At the back are MAS's B777-200 and Jet Airways's B737-800.

Malaysia Airline 9M-MPD

What can you think after you look on the title?? 9M-MPD once a famous aircraft in Malaysia Airline (MAS) or just a normal super jumbo B747 of MAS? Alrite, let me tell you what! This MAS's Boeing 747-400 with registration 9M-MPD had totally changed its colour scheme. What a serious posting rite...

This B747-400 or 9M-MPD had a nice livery around the year 2006 till 2008. A nice "Hibiscus" livery which carry a title "An Experience Redefined" had been launched by former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia) during the newly launch's cabin of this aircraft. However, this nice livery brings a lot of joy for the aviation freak especially for those who had a camera with DSLR lenses. This super jumbo fly high in the sky and will be easily be spotted due to its bright red colour. Anyway, this aircraft's livery had been scrapped of and changed back to its original MAS colour which is blue, red and white somewhere around 2006 or 2007 (i guess).

Now, this wonderful B747 had changed its livery to a green and slightly yellowish colour. What a shock when I saw this too. However the livery is not a MAS livery but it is a newly formed airline based in Jeddah. Al Wafeer Air is established to serve the Haj and Umrah operation. So, what can you define from this? MAS sold or charterd 9M-MPD to Al Wafeer Air due to the economy crisis? Lets search for more details on the web and maybe we will get more surprise!!! Last but not least, congratz Al Wafeer Air from being established and operate with MAS's Boeing B747-400 and also welcome to the aviation world.

This is the new 9M-MPD's livery in Al Wafeer Air's livery.

Due to the Expo 2010, this aircraft is believe to be one of the effort that MU put on to publish the event!!! Anyway, its a great livery with brilliant colours on this bird!!

Firefly at LCCT

Once again...Bravo to Firefly!!!!

Regarding to my 6th posting here which carry the title "Firefly arriving LCCT ", now its time to solve out the so called mystery of Firefly. What mystery am I talking about? Haha...the mystery is where Firefly arrive LCCT. I believe that every aviation lover or Malaysians will feel excited when FY announce to arrive at LCCT but they didn't bring out any further infomation. So, the date 15 October had arrived and the FY didn't made all the fans feel dissapointed at all.

Firefly had opened its new sales counter in LCCT. Hmm...thats a good news where the tourists can get a chance to book and buy their tickets there. Low cost carrier terminal is well known as the hub of Air Asia but now Firefly had started to enter the airport by setting up a sales counter there. Nothing much, this may give Malaysia's tourism sector a bloom where the tourists can directly book their tickets upon arriving from evrywhere of the world by Air Asia or Air Asia X. Routes served by FY will be quite similiar to AK but then this is not a problem for both carrier. AK is already well known as the largest operator of A320s and yet FY is the largest operator of ATRs in Malaysia so far. So, the passengers can choose to sit either one of them or made their choice where they can start to aboard AK's A320s first then FY's ATRs.(just an example) So, this will not give a cons to both of them. Just as a competitor in the business sector rite!!!

Below is some pictures of the new FY's LCCT sales counter whch I get it from FY's facebook fan page.

Air Asia is now from Kuala Lumpur to Abu Dhabi

Another good news for the aviation's lover...this especially for the Air Asia (AK) supporter. Regarding to the title above, the new route, Kuala Lumpur to Abu Dhabi is now open for booking. AK is entering the airline market of Middle-East and this is another perfect choice for the travellers who wanna travel from or into Malaysia. This route will be a 5 times weekly flight and this flight will be fully operated by Air Asia X (D7). It is still a "?" for using either its Airbus 330s or 340s for this route (i think most prob. will be A330). You may find more updates through the news or the website of Air Asia now!!! Abu Dhabi is a perfect gateway to Dubai which is just 60 minutes via the convenient bus link. So, just consider to fly with D7 and get a low fare price between the promotion period.

Here are some short facts about Abu Dhabi....

Abu Dhabi is the capital and the largest city of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is one of the more modern cities in the world. Abu Dhabi houses important offices of the federal government, and is the seat for the UAE Government and the home for theEmirati Royal Family. With its rapid development and urbanization, coupled with the relatively high average income of its population, Abu Dhabi has grown to be a cosmopolitan metropolis. Today as the capital, the city is the country's center of political, industrial activities, and a major cultural centre. With broad boulevards, skyscrapers and bustling businesses, this wealthy city is known as the most important cultural city in the UAE, attracting many visitors to its established Cultural Foundation centre, which is responsible for hosting various art exhibitions and musical performances from all over the globe.Abu Dhabi is surrounded by several major islands and some of them are in the process of being developed into multi-billion dollar resorts which will further enrich the Emirates’ profile.

The above articles are from Air Asia's official webpage. Thanks to Air Asia again!!

Firefly arriving LCCT

Hey there...now its time to look on the other community airline or what the people call it the low cost carrier in Malaysia. Have you heard about Fly Fireflyz or Firefly? Actually there are the same where they bring a name "Firefly" thats it!!! What is so special about it? I'm kinda curious at the first time I'm looking into it. But, now I know it.

Firefly is another low cost carrier in Malaysia where its parents company is the well-known Malaysia Airline. Firefly starts to operate in somewhere 1st quarter of 2007. Since it is a low cost carrier or known as the community airline, of course the aircraft that used is not as glamour as its parents company which flies the Airbus 330s or the Boeing 737s, 747s and 777s. Firefly start to operate with 2 Fokker-50 which both are from Malaysia Airline (MAS). But just in 2 years time, Firefly had purchased a number of ATR72-500 and currently it owns a full fleet of ATR72s. What a big success right?? Don't you agree with me? Okay..thats it for now.

The main purpose for this post if not to promote this airline or introduce it. What is happening to Firefly (FY) now is the ATRs will be seen arriving LCCT this 15 October 2009. Before this, Firefly started its operations from the main hub, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (SZB) or known as Subang Airport by Malaysians. But what a shocking news that appear in the newspaper's advertisement section was FY is arriving LCCT on 15 October. This had made a lot of people response to this matter espeacially at Facebook's Firefly fan page. What about you as well? Do you agree with this? However, FY arriving LCCT is still a "?" for us. Maybe FY is doing a stop-over, route from SZB-LCCT, or even transit flight?? So, let's wait for the Firefly's management to announce it on 15 October. I'm kinda sure that everyone is looking on this matter as well right!!

Firefly "Your Community Airline"....visits the FY's official webpage on http://www.fireflyz.com.my/ for more infomation or updates from the airline. Below are some of the Firefly's photos regarding the ATRs and etc. Enjoy!!!

Photos from Firefly's Official Webpage. The above pictures show the ATR72-500's exterior looking with Firefly's livery in a great day. Meanwhile the 2nd picture shows the ATR72-500's interior with 2-2 configuration with leather seats.

Latest news form the South East Asia's aviation stated that SilkAir, a subsidiary company of Singapore Airline (SIA) will takes over the Singapore-Penang route. Currently, the Penang route that served by SilkAir have a three times daily flight which is in the morning, afternoon and evening as well. Due to a positive feedback from the customers of SilkAir, the carrier hope to count on their continued support. According to analysts, the takeover will not be an issue for either carrier. Civil Aviation World

What is aviation?? What a lame questions if you dunno about it and you wanna create a blog which is fully about the civil aviation world.
This is definitely not me of course. I'm kinda interested to the aviation world since I was young. What makes me addicted to it? What is so special about planes? What is so brilliant? Oh great!!! Can't recall it or I should say that I had never think about it before.....
Anyway, all of the above had became a pass. Now I'm generating a whole new blog bout the aviation world. This blog will be concentrate more in Malaysia's Aviation world, South East Asia and the world as well. Not a fully details blog but will provide some information here. What makes me start to generate this blog? I guess it was my interest bout it though. So, I hope that "Freedom Of Space" will become a hot spot for the aviation lovers to share or find the information here. Your sharing will be appreciated too.

Thanks for visiting "Freedom Of Space".....
