Hi there, there had been 2 posts about Air Asia and now there's still another intresting post for me to share here. Nothing musch bout this post just that 9M-AFB had changed its original livery to another "look young" and energetic livery now.

The photo that will be shown below is taken on the 4th of April 2010 and this aircraft's livery is expected to pull all the aviation freaks to snap a picture of it and of course for the children as well. In the airport, children might enjoy for looking this "cartoon" aircraft and for those who travel with this AK flight, surely will smile as the cartoon...Go Go Go Air Asia, Good Job again!! Nice livery here!!

Once again, congratz to Air Asia X for being the first low cost carrier in the world to offer "Flated Premium Seats". Lets have a look on this report below.

Luxury of business class at incredible low fares

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 April 2010 – AirAsia X revealed another enhancement in its services today with the introduction of new comfortable ‘flatbed Premium seats’, giving the ‘AirAsia flying experience’ a new meaning and elevating the brand to a higher level. The new improvement is set to distinguish the world’s most successful low-cost long-haul airline as a distinctive leader in the market, further bolstering the brand as the advocates of innovation and excellence.

AirAsia X is proudly the first low-cost carrier in the world to introduce flatbed seats. The flatbed seats are standard business class specifications of 20” width, 60” pitch and stretches out to 77” in full recline position. The seats feature universal power sockets, adjustable headrests and built-in personal utilities such as tray table, drink holder, reading light and privacy screen.

Premium seat guests will get to enjoy the following premium complimentary product and services: Pick A Seat, Priority Check-in, Priority Boarding, Priority Baggage, Baggage Allowance, Combo Meal and Comfort Kit.

AirAsia X has revamped its economy class seats with new ergonomical, reclineable seats at 31” pitch equipped with comfortable adjustable headrests. The airline also decided to move away from traditional black leather and opt for a mix of red and grey, which contributes to brighter cabin ambience.

AirAsia X is currently upgrading its whole fleet with the new seats in stages for all long-haul flights to Melbourne, Gold Coast, Perth, Taipei, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Chengdu, London, Mumbai and New Delhi. The refurbishment process is expected to be completed by June 2010. Until all aircraft are fully furnished with the new seats, the term ‘flatbed’ will appear next to the flight information during booking process, to inform guests that premium seats are available on the particular flight.

Kuala Lumpur - Dammam via Dubai

Another new destination for Malaysia Airlines (MH) which will begin on Wednesday and Saturdays beginning on May 5. Saudi Arabia had been seen as one of the most popular destination for MAS traveller especially on Dubai routes. We can see that airliners such as Emirates, Etihad, Gulf Air, Qatar Airline and Egypt Air are MAS' code share partner and rivals too.

Malaysia Airlines today announced the introduction of twice weekly flights to the Saudi Arabian city of Damman via Dubai from May 5.

The operations will commence on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting May 5.

Malaysia Airlines Managing Director / CEO Tengku Dato' Azmil Zahruddin said, "We are excited to announce this latest destination, which further strengthens our Middle East network.

"In many ways, Dammam has evolved as the link between Saudi Arabia and the outside world, exporting the Kingdom's products and importing its needs and thriving on the interaction between Saudi Arabia and other countries.

"It is not only a major oil producing and exporting area, but also a commercial and shipping center. With the introduction of Dammam as a new destination, Malaysia Airlines will be providing a vital link for those conducting business in the city," he added.

Malaysia Airlines currently operates flights into Dubai, Jeddah, Istanbul and Beirut. The national carrier also serves Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait and Muscat via code share partners Etihad, Gulf Air, Qatar Airlines and Egypt Air.

"This is in line with our strategy to continuously invest in human capital, systems as well as infrastructure to grow this year through the modernization of our fleet and expansion of capacity with additional frequencies and new destinations.

"The new A330s aircraft is expected to add capacity and will enable us to offer more frequencies to key destinations as well as fly to new destinations in the Middle East, including Dammam," he said.

Yesterday Malaysia Airlines firmed up orders with Airbus for up to 25 A330-300 widebody aircraft covering the firm order of 15 A330-300 with options for another 10. In addition, the airline has also placed new orders for up to 4 A330-200F freighters comprising two firm orders and another 2 options.

QF 31 landed safely with tyre blowout

A Qantas A380 aircraft landed safely on the tarmac of Sydney International Airport. This superjumbo jet had terrified the passengers when two of the tyre blow out with a flame while landing. However, the pilots managed to land the A380 without any fatal accident with all the 244 passngers onboard.

A Qantas A380 superjumbo which suffered two tyre blowouts while landing at Sydney Airport has departed for Singapore after a problem with the brakes was identified.

Flight QF31 left Sydney at 6pm (AEDT) on Thursday with 450 passengers on board after it was assessed by engineers, Qantas spokesman Thomas Woodward said.

The tyre blowout is believed to have been connected to a braking problem.

"We understand there was an issue with the braking system attached to the two tyres," Mr Woodward told AAP.

"This is being assessed as an isolated incident at this stage."

The plane was grounded on Wednesday night after the incident, which sent showers of sparks and flames flying from its undercarriage.

It happened as flight QF32, with 244 people aboard, arrived from Singapore about 8.20pm (AEDT).

There was speculation on aviation internet message boards that brakes on the aircraft locked up, causing the tyres to burst.

The dramatic landing was captured on video by passengers aboard the aircraft, which Seven Network aired on Thursday.

No passengers were at risk at any point, Qantas said.

It was the second mechanical mishap on a Qantas aircraft in consecutive days.

On Tuesday, another Qantas flight was disrupted after a pilot discovered a fault in the third engine.

The near-full QF5 jumbo was forced to turn back to Sydney shortly after taking off 5.10pm (AEDT), dumping fuel into the sea on the way in order to meet landing requirements.

Meanwhile, industrial action threatens to disrupt Qantas flights over the Easter period.

At meetings on Wednesday, members of the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers Australia (APESMA) voted to extend overtime bans through the four-day break beginning on Friday.

The airline said their action would not affect operations.

Get fooled?? Let's look for what is REAL!!

Firstly, "F.O.S" will like to wish all the readers "Happy April Fool" in the conjunction of 01-04-2010.

Are you get fooled by people today? Or you are the one who make people fooled? Just ignore these question and let's have a look on a "REAL" matter in the aviation world. Malaysia Airlines create a opening topic for today's F.O.S post. If you are a Malaysian, just have a look on the natinal newspaper, The Star and The NST, you will know what is the aim for this posting. Yeap, thats's right!! MAS purchase another new aircrafts. At first I'm kinda shock when I look on this matter because not long ago, MAS also had purchased a number of Airbus A330s and Boeing B737-800s for their fleet renewal plan. The post is still in "F.O.S" if you look back the blog archived.

Not much to say here, let's look on the report that I had cropped out again from NST paper today.

NATIONAL carrier Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has ordered two Airbus A330-200 freighters, with options for an additional two.

This is in addition to 15 firm orders and 10 options for A330-300s placed in December last year.

The firm orders for 15 A330-300s and two A330-200Fs are valued at US$3.6 billion (RM12 billion) list price.

MAS managing director and chief executive officer Tengku Datuk Azmil Zahruddin said that each plane costs about US$170 million (RM556 million) and the purchase will be financed with proceeds from a recent rights issue as well as additional debt funding."With the new aircraft coming in, we can use them for growth, that is, if the economy is doing well. Otherwise, we will do the necessary replacement of aircraft. It depends on where we are at that point in time," Tengku Azmil told reporters after signing the sale and purchase agreement with Airbus on the sidelines of the Invest Malaysia 2010 in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

"By 2015, we want to ensure we have a younger fleet and the average age will be down to just five years," he said.

MAS plans to use the new freighters on its intra-Asia route and to offer direct freight services to Europe from India and Bangladesh.

The first freighter will be part of cargo subsidiary Malaysia Airlines Cargo Sdn Bhd's (MASkargo) fleet in September next year, while the first passenger plane will be delivered in the first half of next year.

MAS chief financial officer Mohd Azha Abdul Jalil said it had made a Request For Proposals to finance the aircraft purchase and expects it to be finalised by the end of the month.

"We have received more than 20 proposals. So it will take quite a while to evaluate all. The proposals are from overseas as well as locally," he said.

As at December 31 2009, MAS' cash flow was under RM3 billion, with gearing at 1.1 times.

In preparation for the additional capacity when the new planes are delivered, MAS has been adding new frequencies since Sunday. It is expected to announce new destinations in the second quarter of the year.

Transmile now add in Changi, Singapore

Transmile Air, one of the well grown cargo operator in Malaysia and this air freight carrier has a hub in Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. It is an express freight and freighter charter company. The airline was established in November 1993. It has courier transportation services between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia and services international companies such as DHL Worldwide Express , United Parcel Service, Air Macau and CEN Worldwide , among others. Now, Miri Airport, Sarawak, Malaysia also having the TH flights flying in and out daily. On the 30th of March 2010, Transmile had marked another success where this cargo airline started to fly into Changi, Singapore. This also making it is the first new airline to fly to the airport this year. Changi Airport operator said that TH will be having six weekly scheduled flights from Singapore to Kuala Lumpr via Kuching and Labuan. This would also facilitate the trade flows between Malaysia and Singapore especially for Sarawak.

More flights to Queensland from KLIA

This post is one of the articles that I had read in the "Airlink". "Airlink" is a monthly publication of Malaysia Airports. Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) is one of the best airport operator in the world and of course as well in its home base Malaysia. Curently, MAHB operating most of the airports in Malaysia and also some international's airports in other continents.

Come back to this title now, Queensland is a perfect gateway for holidays with familiy or even couples. Now, Queensland is well known in the world and for Malaysia, its County Manager for Tourism Queensland (Ivan Teh) is glad to see the increasing flights into Queensland.

Currently, the flights between both of the country can be said as very "hot" selling. Why do I say so? Just for Australia, there are a few spot where most of the airlines aiming into it. Malaysia Airlines (MH), Air Asia X (D7) are the airliners from Malaysia which serves the kagaroo route. As for the others such as, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines are some of the examples too.

For Kuala Lumpur - Brisbane route, Malaysia's national flag carrier, Malaysia Airlines is resuming its direct flights this month by using the Boeing 777-200 aircraft by maintaining the existing connections between the two cities via Sydney. Meanwhile for the Kuala Lumpur - Sydney route, MH is using the Boeing B747-400. For the routes between KL and Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide, MH will be using its Boeing B777-200 too.

As for the national's low cost carrier, Air Asia X (a subsidary company of Air Asia), currently they are operating Kuala Lumpur - Gold Coast route by using the Airbus A330-300. Of course the Airbus A330-300s aircrafts also used to serve the route between KL and Perth and Melbourne as well.

There are a varies of choices for the traveller who wants to travel between this two country. Airlines such as Qantas (Australia's natinal carrier) had terminated the route to Kuala Lumpur but just hope that this route will be resumed in a couple of time. For now, Emirates will serve the KL - Melbourne route too. This is one of the transfer flight which its original route is Dubai - Kuala Lmpur - Melbourne. This routes will be serve daily by its Airbus A340-500. And for this aircraft, its First Class is a well known luxury products so now the travellers can try it on this route too. 21 weekly flights from Dubai to KL is one of the hot route for Emirates by using the A340s.

As conclusion, we hope to see more flights to Australia from Malaysia and of course hope that the latest "Giant" superjumbo A380s will serve these routes too.
